This 13-day journey offers a deeply immersive exploration of the cultural and spiritual heart of South Asia. You will travel through India’s iconic “Golden Triangle” before crossing into Nepal to experience the serene beauty of the Himalayas. From the bustling markets of Old Delhi to the tranquil sunrise rituals on the Ganges and the ancient stupas of Kathmandu, this tour provides a seamless blend of history, architecture, and breathtaking landscapes.
You’ll land at Indira Gandhi International Airport where an MTA representative meets you. From there, head into Old Delhi to see Jama Masjid, India’s largest mosque, then take a rickshaw through the busy Chandni Chowk market. After lunch, visit Raj Ghat, the memorial for Mahatma Gandhi. In the afternoon, drive past India Gate, Parliament House, and the President’s House on the way to Qutub Minar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Check into your hotel by evening.
After breakfast, you’ll drive toward Jaipur for about 5 to 6 hours covering 260 km. Along the way, stop at Galta Ji Temple, known as the Monkey Temple because of its sacred resident monkeys and natural water tanks. Later, visit the white marble Birla Temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. You’ll reach Jaipur in the evening and check into your hotel.
Start the day at Amber Fort, a hilltop fortress with Rajput architecture. On the way back, stop for photos at Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds). Then walk through City Palace, home to royal artifacts and intricate architecture. Next, visit Jantar Mantar, a 17th-century astronomical observatory with precision instruments including a 27-meter-high sundial. If time allows, wander through local markets selling textiles, gemstones, and handicrafts. Stay in Jaipur tonight.
After breakfast, drive toward Agra for about 6 hours covering 258 km. Stop at Abhaneri to see Chand Baori, one of India’s deepest stepwells, and the nearby Harshat Mata Temple. Continue to Fatehpur Sikri, the impressive red sandstone former capital built by Emperor Akbar. Though the city was abandoned after just 12 years, it remains well-preserved. Later, reach Agra, check into your hotel, and stay overnight.
After breakfast, visit the Taj Mahal, built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. Next, head to Agra Fort, a fortress housing palaces, gardens, and Mughal history. Stay in Agra tonight.
After breakfast, head to the railway station for a short train to Gwalior. Visit Gwalior Fort, including Man Singh Palace and Jain rock-cut statues carved along the hillside. Then drive to Orchha, about 120 km away taking 3 hours. Check in to your hotel. In the evening, you have the option to visit Ram Raja Temple for the evening prayer ceremony. Stay in Orchha tonight.
After breakfast, start with Jahangir Mahal in Orchha, which offers panoramic views of the ruins. Then drive to Khajuraho, approximately 150 km away taking about 4 hours. See the Western Group of Temples, famous for their temple architecture and intricate carvings, and also explore the Eastern Jain Temples. Stay in Khajuraho tonight.
After breakfast, drive to Allahabad for about 6 hours covering 273 km. This city holds significant spiritual and historical importance. Visit Triveni Sangam, the sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and mythical Saraswati rivers. Also visit Anand Bhawan, the ancestral home of the Nehru family, and the Ashoka Pillar. Stay in Allahabad tonight.
After breakfast, drive to Varanasi for about 3 hours covering 130 km. Upon arrival, visit Sarnath, the place where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon. In the evening, watch the Ganga Aarti ceremony at the Ghats, a spiritual ritual along the sacred Ganges River. Stay in Varanasi overnight.
Start early with a boat ride on the Ganges to watch sunrise rituals and see life along the Ghats. Follow with a walking tour through the narrow streets of the old city. Return to the hotel for breakfast. Later, transfer to the airport for your approximately 1.5-hour flight to Delhi. Once you arrive, head to your hotel and stay overnight.
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your approximately 1.5-hour flight to Kathmandu, Nepal. Upon arrival, you’ll obtain your visa and meet an MTA representative. Head to your hotel and settle in. Later, take a guided walk through the vibrant markets of Asan and Indra Chowk, and visit Machindra Bahal, a revered local temple. Stay in Kathmandu tonight.
After breakfast, visit Swayambhunath Stupa, a 2,500-year-old structure on a hill with panoramic views over the city. In the afternoon, explore the grand Boudhanath Stupa and Pashupatinath Temple, Nepal’s most sacred Hindu temple. Visit nearby traditional villages. In the evening, enjoy a special Nepalese dinner with cultural dance performances. Stay in Kathmandu tonight.
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your return flight home.

The base price covers all ground transportation and regional train travel as specified in the 13-day itinerary. International flights to Delhi and return flights from Kathmandu are not included but can be arranged upon request.
The ideal period for this tour is between October and March, when the weather in North India is pleasantly cool and the skies in Nepal are clearest for mountain views.
